Recently I started making a prototype of this website on .NET 9, looked at my previous developments and saw that I started making the first conscious steps in this direction exactly a year ago, on April 11, 2004, a prototype of the new Web Dynamics was started. However, at that time I was working and had no time for my pet project, with the new version everything came to a halt.
Now I continue to implement this prototype with .NET 9, make some new parts with View Component that differ from Partial View, all code almost from a clean slate, no legacy, apply all my new relevant experience and modern technologies. I will support the current Web Forms version and simultaneously develop a new site. Then web forms will go to the golden fund of my projects. After all, Web Dynamics has a long history.
Pet projects are such a thing that you either have to love them and do them, or give up. It would be possible to speed up and implement new Web Dynamics as quickly as possible, but no one needs it and it is not particularly interesting; the website is working perfectly now. There is a huge amount of work to do with the new version, but now the issue of my employment is the highest priority.
When you apply for a vacancy with all the necessary honest up-to-date information and HR sends rejections for relevant .NET vacancies, you don't know what goes through their heads. «You have great experience, a good resume, relevant skills, but we "selected another candidate and closed this position"». And this job position continues to be active on the website for months.
